Colston, Meachem well on the way to recovery
Marques Colston and Robert Meachem believe they are well on the way to full recovery after offseason surgeries.
Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune caught up with both of the New Orleans Saints wide receivers as they stay busy working out with noted trainer Wyatt Harris in Louisiana.
Colston underwent microfracture surgery to repair cartilage around his right kneecap, and it’s similar to a procedure he had on his left knee two years ago. Meachem is working his way back from surgery on his left ankle.
“I'm doing everything now. It's just about getting my conditioning back,” Colston told Triplett.
Colston had arthroscopic surgery on the knee to clean up loose cartilage after Week 16 and was back in time for the Saints’ playoff loss. Then, he had the more extensive surgery following the season. He’s also had wrist surgery this offseason. The lockout, of course, is giving both he and Meachem plenty of time to focus on getting better.
The ankle had given Meachem issues for years and he says he feels “10 times better” right now.
Now, they just need football to resume so they can show the organization where they’re at right now.
