Colt McCoy to start in place of Cousins if RGIII not ready

The Washington Redskins are switching quarterbacks.

Colt McCoy will start ahead of Kirk Cousins.

However, McCoy won't start against the Dallas Cowboys if Robert Griffin III is back from his ankle injury.

"I'd like to make the decision as soon as I can because I'm a big rep guy, and I want to make sure we get the starter ready to go," Redskins coach Jay Gruden said. "Moving forward for the Cowboys, we're going to start with Colt. Kirk's gonna get the reps that he gets and he'll be ready to go in if need be. But Colt will be the starter, I'm planning on Monday night."

Gruden said Griffin III won't play unless he's 100 percent, so it looks like it will be McCoy.

McCoy completed 11 of 12 passes and posted a passer rating of 138.9 in the second half against the Titans.
