Colts benching linebacker Daniel Adongo as police investigate

The Indianapolis Colts are benching linebacker Daniel Adongo while police investigate him. Police officers went to Adongo's home to see about welfare of a female resident after the woman texted a friend saying she needed help.

Then, police responded and the woman answered the door and didn't request medical assistance and police said she couldn't explain why she sent the text.

A report was filed and the case has been forwarded to prosecutors.

"The Indianapolis Colts are aware of media reports regarding a possible criminal investigation of Daniel Adongo," the Colts said in a statement. "As is evident from the reports, the facts relating to the alleged incident are highly uncertain. We are investigating the matter and until we have gathered clear information, it would be unfair to all concerned for us to make any public comment."
