Colts cut linebackers Jonathan Newsome, Andy Studebaker

The Indianapolis Colts waived outside linebacker Jonathan Newsome and released outside linebacker Andy Studebaker. Newsome was arrested last week and charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana. “I learned a lot during my time here in Indianapolis, becoming a better football player and a person," Newsome said. "I have made mistakes, but I’ve grown.’’ Newsome was a fifth-round draft pick in 2014 who led the Colts as a rookie with 6 1/2 sacks. Following a noise complaint, officers found marijuana at Newsome's residence. Studebaker has 70 career tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions with 68 special-teams tackles.
