Colts GM Grigson will evaluate Caldwell
New general manager Ryan Grigson says he will evaluate every aspect of the Indianapolis Colts organization, including the fate of head coach Jim Caldwell, according to the Indianapolis Star.
“We’re going to do everything from A to Z. We’re going to cover every corner of the building,” Grigson said. “I’m not going to have time to do much but to grind tape. I have an impression of the people on the roster but I’ve got to lock myself in my office and put a don’t disturb sign on the door and work until I knock it out.”
Caldwell's fate might very well be known by next week, according to Colts owner Jim Irsay, but that is far from the only issue Grigson faces with the Colts. There is that little thing with Peyton Manning and his $28 million roster bonus in March, complicated of course by his health. And there is the matter of drafting Andrew Luck with the first pick and replenish a roster exposed to have plenty of holes that had been masked by Manning's presence over the years.
