Colts' Saturday ponders retirement
With plenty of changes afoot in Indianapolis, veteran center Jeff Saturday tells the Indianapolis Star that he is considering retirement at age 36.
"I have my own decision to make long before I worry (about) what the Colts are going to do," Saturday said. "I'm considering not playing.
In a far less visible way than Peyton Manning, Saturday has been an integral part of the Colts core that has stayed together and kept the Colts competitive for a number of years prior to their 2011 collapse. Now, with the departure of Bill and Chris Polian, the firing of Caldwell on Tuesday and Manning's uncertainty, a complete rebuild appears in the works in Indy.
And 30-somethings like Saturday, Manning and receiver Reggie Wayne have to know they may not be a part of things when the organization turns the page on the current era.
