Coroner: Cardiovascular disease killed Norman Hand
Norman Hand, the 10-year NFL veteran who passed away on Friday at 37, died from hypertensive cardiovascular disease, according to the Colleton County, S.C., coroner.
Hand, a defensive tackle, had weight issues throughout his career, per a report by Mike Triplett in the New Orleans Times-Picayune. The coroner, Richard Harvey, could not say if Hand’s weight contributed to heart disease. Hand had a history of high blood pressure, a cause for hypertension.
A former draft pick of the Miami Dolphins, he also spent time with the San Diego Chargers, Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants.
