Cowboys considering Rob Ryan for defensive coordinator

The search for a defensive coordinator continues in Dallas and Rob Ryan is the latest candidate to surface.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Ryan will interview for the job as Jason Garrett and Jerry Jones search for someone to turn around their unit.

Ryan, who interviewed for the Carolina Panthers head coaching job, has one year remaining on his contract with the Browns. But the report indicates Ryan hasn’t been seen at the team’s facility since the season ended, and he wasn’t present Thursday when Pat Shurmur was introduced as the new head coach.

The Cowboys met with Greg Manusky for the job but he’s expected to be hired by Norv Turner with the San Diego Chargers.
