Cowboys draw nearly 300,000 to training camp

<p> Jerry Jones’ North American Tour has apparently paid off.

The Cowboys drew nearly 300,000 fans to training camp in three different sites as they started in San Antonio, went to Canton, Ohio, headed to Dallas, left for Oxnard, Calif., played a game in San Diego and then went back to Oxnard all before tonight’s preseason game in Houston.

According to the Dallas Morning News, 200,989 fans saw them practice at the Alamodome in San Antonio. At Cowboys Stadium, 21,539 came out to see the team, and in Oxnard 74,825 showed up to see what Jones likes to call America’s Team.

The Chicago Bears say that they draw about 100,000 fans to Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., every summer. Jones certainly has raised the bar for marketing a team during training camp.
