Cowboys ponder bringing in Linehan

The Dallas Cowboys are contemplating whether to hire former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, according to ESPN.

Per the report, he would be a compromise candidate to resolve conflict between owner Jerry Jones and coach Jason Garrett.

Linehan would call the plays and have the title of passing game coordinator.

Garrett and Bill Callahan are the last two play-callers.

Jones reportedly had Callahan call the plays, usurping Garrett.

Linehan is highly regarded as a play-caller.
