Cowboys promote Jakar Hamilton, cut David Arkin

The Dallas Cowboys promoted safety Jakar Hamilton from the practice squad to the active roster.

They cut offensive lineman David Arkin, a former fourth-round draft pick.

The Cowboys needed Hamilton for depth with starter J.J. Wilcox out Sunday with a knee injury. Jeff Heath is set to start in his place.

Hamilton spent the first seven weeks of the season on the practice squad.

He went undrafted out of South Carolina State.
