Cowboys ready to do some (window) shopping
The Dallas Cowboys are pressed right up against the salary cap with just more than $100,000 in room, but that isn’t going to stop them from kicking a few tires and seeing what is in the showroom.
The team will host three free agents on visits today, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Linebacker Justin Durant and safeties Will Allen and Michael Huff will be at Valley Ranch for what Hill calls “informational visits” based on the fact the Cowboys don’t have the ability to make any signings at this point.
The Cowboys are expected to hammer out a new contract for quarterback Tony Romo and likely one for linebacker Anthony Spencer that will create cap savings for the club. But those deals aren’t done yet.
Huff is expected to visit the Baltimore Ravens later in the week.
