Cowboys will cut ties with Cory Procter
The Dallas Cowboys kicked off their first OTA about an hour ago and they did so without reserve center Cory Procter.
The veteran will be released today, according to Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News, leaving the team without a natural center on the roster behind Andre Gurode.
Procter was a restricted free agent and he had signed his tender worth $1.759 million, but those qualifying offers are not guaranteed. Per the report, the team had tried to deal Procter but was unsuccessful. Procter started 11 games at left guard in 2008.
