Crabtree fined for hit at end of latest Niners' loss

Michael Crabtree has been fined $2,500 by the NFL for a hit at the end of the San Francisco 49ers’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday night.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports that Crabtree hit Eagles rookie cornerback Trevard Lindley after Lindley had gone to the ground in the final minute and Crabtree hit him. Lindley had run about five yards with the ball following the pick before going to the ground.

“Nobody touched him," Crabtree said. "I was just trying to make a play. I didn't see nobody touch him, so I was just trying to hit him."

Crabtree hit him with his shoulder and did jar the ball loose. A penalty was called for unnecessary roughness. Crabtree indicates that he plans to appeal the fine.
