Danario Alexander tears ACL

San Diego Chargers wide receiver Danario Alexander tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, a season-ending injury and a major setback for a promising young player.

Alexander caught 37 passes for 658 yards and seven touchdowns last season after being signed in October.

Alexander had a previous stint with the St. Louis Rams where he caught 46 passes for 737 yards and three touchdowns.

The 24-year-old had a history of problems with his knee at Missouri and got hurt in the Senior Bowl all-star game, causing him to go undrafted.
