Darnell Dockett fined for pregame tweet
The tweeting police have caught up with Darnell Dockett.
The Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle was fined $5,000 by the NFL for violating the league’s social media policy. He tweeted, “Amen!” 20 minutes before the Cardinals kicked off last Sunday against the St. Louis Rams in the Edward Jones Dome.
Dockett has a fairly prolific Twitter profile. Fortunately, with his recent contract extension he will not have an issue paying the fine.
Darren Urban, who writes for the team’s Web site, also reports that lineman Calais Campbell was fined $5,000 for a hit on Rams quarterback Sam Bradford.
