Darren Sproles gets two-year contract extension through 2016 season
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed all-purpose running back Darren Sproles to a two-year contract extension, the team announced.
He's now under contract through the 2016 season.
Sproles joined the Eagles via a trade from the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick
Sproles figures to have a versatile role in Chip Kelly's offense.
He could form a nice tandem with LeSean McCoy.
The Washington Redskins were also interested in Sproles, but the Saints made the deal with Philadelphia.
