Daryl Washington suspension stands

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington was unsuccessful in his bid to reduce or remove his four-game suspension.

His suspension was upheld after meeting in New York with NFL senior vice president of law and labor policy Adolpho Birch.

Washington also has a court hearing on domestic violence charges in October.

“I thought it was a good interview but I didn’t get the news I wanted to hear,” Washington told the Cardinals' official website. “It’s just motivaton for me to come back stronger for these last 12 games.”

Washington said he had a good meeting with Birch.

“He’s a good dude. and I got a lot of understanding what was going on,” Washington said. “It was a nice meeting. Just wasn’t what I expected. but I wouldn’t say it’s a waste of a trip.”

“It’s still a suspension, unfortunately. But you have to deal with it and move past it, put a smile on your face and play those 12 games.”
