DeCastro will have surgery, won't go to IR

David DeCastro will need surgery for multiple injuries on his right knee, but won't be placed on injured reserve, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

DeCastro tore the MCL, damaged the patella tendon and dislocated his kneecap in the injury in the Steelers' preseason game against the Buffalo Bills.

Despite all the damage to the rookie guard's knee, the surgery may not be season endng, and the Steelers are holding out hope that he will be able to return for the second half of the season.
