Deion Sanders says you can't trust Tony Romo

Maybe the Dez Bryant bashers are content to find another target these days.

Because heat is mounting in Dallas for quarterback Tony Romo, who had a disastrous second half in the Cowboys’ loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday when they blew a 27-3 lead. Romo, who was the hero the week before in a victory at San Francisco, had two interceptions returned for touchdowns against him.

Now, Deion Sanders – who has taken his shots at Bryant in the past – has turned his attention to Romo.

I don’t understand this guy. Just when you want to believe in him, heroic effort, came back against San Francisco, they said punctured lung and everything,” Sanders said on NFL Network’s “NFL Gameday,” according to the Dallas Morning News. “And we praised him, we said, ‘Yeah, he’s that leader, he’s their guy.’

“And then you come and do this. What are you thinking? Sooner or later we’ve just got to quit guessing and assuming that this guy’s is the guy to get you over the hump, and say, ‘You know what? This guy is always going to be great statistically, but he’s not that guy that can take you to where you want to go.’ And that’s the Super Bowl.

“Dallas Cowboys fans are sick of it. We had (Romo) on our shoulders last week. “Oh Tony, he’s our king!” But now we want to stone him. I’m serious, that’s the way (fans) feel about him because you can’t trust him. I like him. Statistically, he’s great, but you can’t trust him.”
