One of the unresolved issue from the collective bargaining agreement that was hatched last summer – probably the biggest one – is the issue of mandatory HGH testing for players.

It was supposed to happen right away and kept getting pushed back and pushed back and pushed back and here we are two days before Super Bowl XLVI with no agreement in place between the players and the NFL.

NFLPA director DeMaurice Smith said at his press conference in Indianapolis that talks continue in an effort to bridge the gap that exists. But he said there is no guarantee an agreed upon method and plan will be in place for the start of the 2012 season.

"No one will bully us into a test," Smith said, according to the Associated Press. "No one will force the players to accept something that's unfair. How could we? We are going to continue to fight and ensure that due process is something that is not thrown away at the expense of just having the test.”

Smith said health and safety are foremost for the players and obviously HGH testing has to be a part of that. We’ll see where this heads if a deal isn’t done by the start of training camps. Then, it could get interesting.
