Deon Grant retires as a Giant

Deon Grant is hanging up his cleats.

The veteran safety is retiring as a New York Giant where he finished his career in 2011.

‘I want to retire as a Giant,” Grant said in a statement. "I want to be a Giant for the rest of my life.”

Grant also played for the Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks.

In 2010 and 2011 with the Giants, Grant recorded 101 tackles, four interceptions and two sacks.

A former second-round draft pick, Grant didn't play in the NFL last season.

After sitting out a year, Grant has decided to retire.
