DeQuin Evans suspended eight games

The NFL announced an eight-game suspension for Bengals defensive end DeQuin Evans.

Evans violated the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy for a second time, which is why he's receiving the lengthy suspension.

The NFL released a statement on the matter:

"DeQuin Evans of the Cincinnati Bengals has been suspended without pay for the first eight games of the 2013 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances. He will be eligible to return to the Bengals’ active roster on Monday, October 28 following the team’s October 27 game against the New York Jets."

Evans has not recorded a statistic in a regular season game. He had one tackle this preseason.
