DeSean Jackson falls short of his goal to stay healthy

DeSean Jackson has been unable to fulfill the top goal he set for himself this season: He’s now injured.

The good news is it’s not believed to be serious. Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid announced that Jackson suffered a bruised foot in the team’s victory over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.

“It's sore today," Reid said, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "But it's not a Lisfranc (sprain) or one of those things. It got stepped on. It's tender. He came in early this morning and got treatment, so we'll see how he does."

Jackson was benched the week before for the team’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals after he was late to a meeting. But Jackson came out and performed against the Giants and that’s something he hasn’t been doing this season. Maybe the week off did him some good at the expense of the team. He hauled in six passes for 88 yards and had a 51-yard punt return. We’ll see if he can continue to provide a spark.
