Dez Bryant buys Air Jordans for Cowboys receivers
Had Dez Bryant just carried Roy Williams’ shoulder pads like NFL tradition mandates, he would not have needed to go on a shopping spree.
As it is, Bryant looks to be making amends for falling out of line at the start of training camp. According to Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News, Bryant purchased Air Jordans for his fellow wide receivers on Thursday as a gift or goodwill gesture or whatever you want to call it.
Bryant created a mini-controversy when camp opened and he said he wasn’t carrying the shoulder pads of a veteran after practice. Williams reacted and players around the league chimed in on the issue. For his part, Bryant said he didn’t know that was considered a rite of passage.
“He’s trying,” veteran wide receiver Patrick Crayton told Archer. “It’s a good start.”
