Dez Bryant heard the boo birds

Dez Bryant had a big game Sunday in the Dallas Cowboys’ comeback victory over the Cleveland Browns at Cowboys Stadium.

Twelve catches for 145 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown pass, was a strong performance in the overtime triumph.

But Bryant made the mistake of stepping out of bounds in the second quarter a yard short of a first down and when he could have fought for extra yardage. The home fans let him have it as the play was shown repeatedly on Jerry Vision, the massive replay board, according to USA Today.

Bryant was assaulted with boos.

"I was hearing it. I was," he said, according to the report. "Man, that hurt my heart."

Bryant said he didn’t realize exactly where he was on the field when he took the easy exit and left his team short a yard.

"When I seen where we was at, I was like, Damn. I didn't mean to do that," Bryant said. "It's not like me. It's not like me to run out of bounds. I seen like four or five guys coming so I took a step out. I didn't see the first down marker. That's my bad. I should've known where we was at on the field."

That is why Bryant will continue to be a target for criticism. The rest of his game needs to catch up to his immense athletic ability. Until it does, he’s never going to fulfill his potential.
