Dez Bryant ready to 'unleash'
It is always difficult to project what a rookie wide receiver will do because it’s a tough position to come in and make a big impact.
The learning curve is steep and timing is a critical issue for receivers and their quarterbacks. Then, the quarterback flat out hast to trust the wide receiver, because ultimately he is choosing where the ball is going.
There is no question that expectations are grand for Dez Bryant, the first-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys. A frustrating preseason when he was sidelined with a high ankle sprain has ended. It’s also tempered some of the expectations for him because of the significant time he missed.
Heck, he hasn’t played in an actual game in a year now since his troubles at Oklahoma State.
“It's been a long time, man,” Bryant said, according to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News. "I just feel like, I'm just ready to unleash.''
Bryant will finally debut Sunday night against the Washington Redskins in prime time.
"I just feel like this is it,” he said. “I've got to go out and play.''
