Dolphins add QB Losman to replace Rosenfels

The Miami Dolphins on Tuesday signed veteran quarterback J.P. Losman and placed QB Sage Rosenfels on the non-football/injury-illness list.

Rosenfels issued a statement that ran on the Palm Beach Post's website, saying, "“When I first joined the Dolphins, all tests showed that I was healthy and ready to go,” he said. “But after practicing for a few weeks, especially in the heat, some new indications made it obvious that I need to rest and allow my body to regain all requisite strength.”

“I want to thank the Dolphins for their understanding and wish them the best of luck the rest of the season.”

Rosenfels had similar issues when he was with the New York Giants.

Losman, a former first-round pick of the Buffalo Bills, has bounced around the past few seasons, spending time with Oakland and Seattle and in the UFL.
