Dolphins expect Jake Long to play in opener
Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said he expects to have left tackle Jake Long in the starting lineup despite a knee problem from practice earlier in the week.
“Like I said, the only think I would reiterate would be our anticipation is we’re going to have 53 healthy guys come (when) we start to prepare for Houston. Whether that’s the case, time will tell, but that’s the anticipation we have,” Philbin told the Dolphins media corps on Friday.
Philbin had first been asked the question regarding having receiver Brian Hartline back on the practice field, but reiterated his answer when asked whether Long could play in the opener on Sept. 9 at home against the Houston Texans.
