Dolphins fire Eric Stokes

The Miami Dolphins fired senior personnel executive and assistant general manager Eric Stokes. They also named Daronte Jones assistant defensive backs coach. Jones was the secondary coach at Wisconsin. Stokes joined the Dolphins after a previous stint as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' director of college scouting. Stokes worked 12 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks as assistant director of college scouting, area scout (2000-01, and as an assistant in the pro personnel department. Stokes played two seasons as a safety for the Seahawks after being selected in the fifth round in 1997 out of Nebraska.
