Dolphins' Keller carted off with serious knee injury
Miami Dolphins starting tight end Dustin Keller was carted off the field Saturday night against the Houston Texans after sustaining a major right knee injury.
Keller is slated to undergo a magnetic resonance imaging exam to determine the severity of the damage.
Keller got hurt when he was hit in the knee by Texans rookie safety D.J. Swearinger, bending the leg awkwardly.
The former New York Jets starter signed a one-year, $4.25 million contract with the Dolphins during the offseason and caught one pass for 14 yards Saturday.
The Dolphins will have to go with Michael Egnew, Charles Clay and Dion Sims to make up for Keller's loss.
