Dolphins may be choosing between Philbin, McCoy

The Miami Dolphins apparently are choosing between Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin and Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy for their head coaching job.

Unless, says the Miami Herald, the Dolphins cannot decide between the two, in which case interim coach Todd Bowles would be the fallback option.

Actually, to be completely accurate, all three of these candidates are fallback options for the Dolphins, given the way they courted Jeff Fisher only to be spurned in favor of the St. Louis Rams.

McCoy apparently pulled his name from consideration in Oakland, while Philbin was scheduled to interview in Tampa Bay on Thursday and remains a potential option for the Raiders as well.

In any event, the Dolphins' opening should be filled fairly quickly, given that it has been open longer than any current job that remains open.
