Dolphins re-sign Brent Grimes
The Miami Dolphins have re-signed veteran cornerback Brent Grimes to a four-year deal, the team announced.
The Dolphins avoided having to use the franchise tag, which would have cost $11.834 million on a one-year tender.
The deal is worth $32 million and includes $16 million guaranteed, according to ESPN.
"I am thrilled that we have been able to reach an agreement with Brent to keep him as a member of the Dolphins," Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey said in a statement. “Brent is a two time Pro Bowler who has been a valuable piece to our organization as a player on the field, a leader in the locker room as well off the field in the South Florida community.”
Grimes, 30, recorded 60 tackles and four interceptions.
The Dolphins couldn't lose Grimes, and now they have him locked up for several seasons.
