Domenik Hixon says he has a new deal with Giants
The New York Giants have apparently knocked out a little more business before the end of the league year, getting a deal done with another core special teams player.
Returner Domenik Hixon, who also is a solid reserve wide receiver, announced on his Facebook page Wednesday night that he had agreed to terms on a contract, according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star Ledger. The club announced a contract for D.J. Ware on Wednesday.
“God answers PRAYERS! My agent and I have been negotiating with the Giants and it looks like we have came to terms!" Hixon wrote on Facebook. "Going to sign the papers in the a.m. and make this thing official! Thank God and all the support from family, friends and fans!!! Thank You and GO G-MEN!!!"
Hixon projected to be an unrestricted free agent. He missed 2010 when he tore an ACL in a practice at New Meadowlands Stadium, an injury that put focus on the installation of the turf there. The team’s return game was one of the most inconsistent in the league without him.
