Donovan McNabb released from Arizona jail after serving one day for DUI

Retired former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb is a free man again after serving one day in an Arizona jail, punishment stemming from a misdemeanor driving under the influence arrest from December 2013

The former Philadelphia Eagles star was pulled over for speeding 81 mph in a 65 mph zone before being arrested and charged with DUI.

McNabb was released Thursday morning after spending the day in jail Wednesday.

“I have had other high profile athletes who have been incarcerated with no problems and this latest athlete follows that same pattern,” Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said in a statement.
