Donovan McNabb responds to DeSean Jackson

It took him a while to get around to it, but Donovan McNabb has responded to the comments made by former teammate DeSean Jackson after the big trade of the NFL offseason.

Jackson, talking to the Sporting News, said: “I don’t think we lost anything.”

The Washington media flashed a copy of the article to McNabb during his press conference this weekend as the Redskins held a voluntary minicamp and the veteran quarterback was able to address it.

"It's so wild what people get to talking when you're not there but when you're there everybody loves you,” McNabb said. “So, I guess people will go deeper into it than I will. I'm a Redskin, no longer an Eagle. I had 11 great years and I'm moving on with my life. Whoever may say things while I'm gone, more power to ’em but it's not making you look like a better man.”

McNabb, who is entering the final year of his contract, is excited about the opportunities in Washington too. It’s expected he will receive a contract extension at some point, but the team has other priorities right now, namely finding a new home for defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.

“The thing with me is I don't believe in trial runs. I'm here as a Redskin and I would like to be here for years to come and I look forward to that,” McNabb said. “The thing about it is preparing myself and settling in, learning this offense so that we can have a lot of success for the next couple years."
