D'Qwell Jackson to appeal guilty verdict in assault case

Indianapolis Colts linebacker D'Qwell Jackson issued a statement indicating he plans to appeal his guilty verdict in a simple assault case. Jackson allegedly beat up a pizza delivery guy in an altercation over a parking spot. "I was surprised and disappointed by yesterday's verdict and we are planning to appeal," Jackson said. "I sincerely believe justice will eventually prevail. Nevertheless, I sincerely regret that this case ever happened and has gotten to this point. I will continue to live my life in a way that confirms I am a good and honorable citizen." Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
