Dr. James Andrews says Brett Favre undecided

In the latest episode of As the World of Brett Turns, everything looks good with his surgically repaired ankle. Surgeon James Andrews told the Associated Press that Favre’s surgery went well and the veteran quarterback has a few more weeks of rehabilitating to do before he will be ready – or decide on whether or not he will return for a 20th NFL season. Everything, of course, points to Favre playing for the Vikings this season, especially the $13 million or so he’ll earn to play.

Andrews removed scar tissue and bone spurs from Favre’s ankle and said everything was in order during a speaking engagement at the Charlotte Touchdown Club. No, the Panthers do not play the Vikings this season, but the topic still came up.

"It went fine,'' Andrews said. “He's rehabbing and trying to decide what he's going to do. I talked to him (Tuesday). We've got a few more weeks of rehabbing. I think he hasn't decided yet what he wants to do.''

Of course, those “few more weeks” could stretch into early August when Favre might want to make sure the ankle is just right before making his comeback after the team has completed its summer stint at Minnesota State University-Mankato. Stay tuned.
