Draft fall? TE Orson Charles arrested, charged with DUI
Orson Charles might be making a move down some draft boards this morning.
The Georgia tight end, considered among the best at what is overall a weak position this year, was arrested this morning and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Charles was booked in the Clarke County Jail at about 4:30 a.m., according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was released approximately an hour later on a $1,750 bond. He was arrested by Athens-Clarke police.
Charles left school with a year of eligibility remaining to enter the draft. So teams are playing catch-up when it comes to doing homework on him. This could be a definite mark against him.
Charles discussed his decision to leave the Bulldogs program early last month at the NFL Scouting Combine.
“I feel like God had a plan for me, as far as picking a college, making my decision to come out,” he said. “Why run away from it now when he's brought me so far.”
