Draft prospect Dennard arrested
Draft prospect Alfonzo Dennard of Nebraska was arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly assaulting a police officer outside of a Lincoln night club, according to the Omaha World-Herald.
Dennard was involved in an incident with another man outside the club, when a police officer tried to intervene. Dennard then allegedly punched the officer in the face. It took four police officers to bring the All Big Ten cornerback into custody. Dennard was also charged with resisting arrest and third-degree assault, stemming from the bar fight.
Dennard had been expected to be a second- or third-round pick in next week's draft before the arrest, something that could serve to drop his draft stock.
