Duron Carter to join Colts

Canadia Football League wide receiver Duron Carter is close to reaching a deal with the Indianapolis Colts, according to a league source.

Carter is the son of Cris Carter, the Hall of Fame NFL wide receiver.

Duron Carter played for the Montreal Alouettes last season.

Carter is free to sign with the Colts and is being let out of his contract early.

Carter caught 75 passes for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

Carter also was pursued by the Minnesota Vikings, Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns.

Duron Carter had academic issues at Ohio State, Alabama and Coffeyville Junior College.
