Eagles ask fan to remove McNabb Redskins jersey
Fans of Donovan McNabb in burgundy and gold are not welcome at Philadelphia Eagles training camp in Lehigh, Pa. Not wearing a No. 5 burgundy and gold jersey on the sideline, anyway.
According to Geoff Mosher of the Wilmington News Journal, a fan wearing a McNabb Redskins jersey on the sideline at practice this morning was asked to remove it. Per Mosher, the fan had “no problem” with the team’s request to take off the jersey of one of the Eagles’ NFC East rivals. At least he didn't have to be escorted away like the yo-yo who wore a Miami Heat King James jersey to the Cleveland Indians game recently.
The Eagles apparently have a policy that those standing on the sideline as credentialed guests at training camp are not permitted to wear jerseys of other teams. So, theoretically a Todd Marinovich Raiders throwback jersey would also be a no-no in Eagles camp for a credentialed guest prowling the sideline. For fans in the stands at training camp, anything goes. But you know how Eagles fans get. Wear your Michael Irvin jersey at your own risk.
