Eagles bring back Jean-Gilles, start practice squad
The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed guard Max Jean-Gilles today to a one-year contract a day after being forced to release him because of a technicality.
“I love Philly," Jean-Gilles said, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News. “They wanted me here, I love being here, so, I'm here. Everything happens for a reason. I've got a job, so, I'm good.”
In trading Stacy Andrews to the Seattle Seahawks Saturday, the Eagles went just past the 6 p.m. deadline and were therefore forced to release an additional player, one they wanted to keep in Jean-Gilles.
The Eagles made five other signings today, getting a start with their practice squad. Added to the mix were WR Chad Hall, RB Martell Mallett, OL Dallas Reynolds, C A.Q. Shipley and DT Jeff Owens.
