Eagles hire Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator

The Philadelphia Eagles hired Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator. The former Detroit Lions head coach has been a defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills. He spent last season out of football. In 2014, the Bills ranked fourth in total defense and scoring defense. “This is a very talented defensive group,” Schwartz said. “There’s talent in all three levels of this defense, up front, linebackers and in the secondary. That made it easy to say yes.” Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
