Eagles hire Tom Donahoe as senior football advisor

The Philadelphia Eagles have hired former Buffalo Bills general manager Tom Donahoe as a senior football advisor.

The club also announced that six others have been named to scouting positions and jobs in the front office -- Ed Marynowitz as assistant director of pro scouting, Jake Hallum as senior scout, John Middlekauff as west coast area scout, Dan Hatman as pro scout, Alec Halaby as special assistant to the general manager and Jake Rosenberg as manager of football administration.

Donaohoe’s name is the one that jumps out at you. He was the GM and president of the Bills from 2001 to 2005 and the club really struggled and took years to recover. Prior to that, the Pennsylvania native was a longtime member of the Steelers organization and served as director of football operations from 1991 to 1999.

“We’re very excited about the additions to our staff,” Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said in a statement on the team’s Web site. “Obviously, Tom Donahoe and Jake Hallum bring with them a tremendous wealth of experience and they are eager to get started. We’re also looking forward to working with Ed Marynowitz; a guy who we feel has a bright future in this league and has a great track record while working at the University of Alabama. John, Dan and Alec have proven themselves over the last couple of years and are deserving of their promotions, while Jake has done a great job thus far in his role.”
