Eagles make next move, cut Mike Patterson
As the day goes on, the Philadelphia Eagles continue to shed veterans.
No, not that one. Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha remains on the team. For the time being anyway.
After parting ways with defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins earlier today, now the Eagles have also cut defensive tackle Mike Patterson.
Patterson returned in 2012 to play in five games after he suffered a seizure in training camp in 2011 and underwent surgery to repair blood vessels in his brain after the season. Patterson was due to earn $2.9 million this coming season and it is clear the Eagles are undergoing a full makeover on the defensive side of the ball with new coach Chip Kelly bringing with him a 3-4 defense.
We’ll see what moves follow. Surely, the Eagles are not done just yet.
