Eagles no longer seeking another tight end

Brent Celek is sidelined with what Andy Reid described as a mild MCL sprain but the Philadelphia Eagles are not in the market for another tight end.

Reid said the club is no longer looking at the position, according to Geoff Mosher of the Wilmington News Journal, meaning Jeremy Shockey, who was reportedly set to visit the team earlier this week, is not in the mix anymore.

The Eagles also expressed interest in Visanthe Shiancoe before he signed with the New England Patriots. But Celek, when healthy, is a top target for quarterback Michael Vick and the offense doesn’t lean heavily on the tight end position.
