Eagles sign Chris Givens

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms with wide receiver Chris Givens on a one-year contract. Givens is a fifth-year pro from Wake Forest. He's a former St. Louis Rams fourth-round pick. He was with the Baltimore Ravens last season after a trade. Givens has 1,779 receiving yards on 107 receptions. His best season came during his rookie year when he led the Rams in receiving yards (698) and yards per catch (16.6). That year, Givens also posted a career-high 42 receptions, three touchdowns and set an NFL rookie record by turning in catches of 50 yards or more in five consecutive games. He played with Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford in St. Louis. Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
