Eagles sign help for special teams with CB Gerard Lawson
The Philadelphia Eagles have been searching for a return man and they finally found one.
The club announced this morning that Gerard Lawson has been signed to a three-year contract. The cornerback has experience as a return man and playing on coverage teams. The Eagles had worked out veteran returners Justin Miller and Clifton Smith in recent days.
Lawson takes the roster spot of Jorrick Calvin, who was placed on injured reserve Thursday with a back issue.
Lawson, an Oregon State product, played in 20 games with the Cleveland Browns in 2008 and 2009. He played for Hartford in the UFL this past season.
