Eagles sign Vinny Curry to five-year, $47.25 million deal

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed defensive end Vinny Curry to a five-year, $47.25 million contract that includes $23 million guaranteed. Curry gets a $10 million signing bonus. Curry has recorded 62 career tackles and 16 1/2 sacks. He had 3 1/2 sacks last season and nine sacks in 2014. Curry didn't do well in a 3-4 scheme as an outside linebacker and played sparingly. The Eagles are going back to his natural 4-3 defense. Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
